Today was a day full of emotions for the both of us. We were picked up by our driver around 11:30 am to make the drive to FANA and receive little Matthew. We were both very nervous and excited at the same time. We were finally in the room that we saw in pictures so many times by others before us. We could not believe we were actually standing there for our moment that we have been waiting for, for so long. When little Matthew was placed in our arms, we were both in tears. Matthew was smiling which made our eyes dry up pretty quick.. Funny how that works! We made the drive back to the hotel. Matthew could not keep his head still. He was looking out both sides of the car, seeing sights, smelling smells, and hearing sounds that he had never heard before. It was nice just to watch him take it all in. The ride was over before we knew it and we immediately fired up the laptop to make some video calls to introduce Matthew to the eagerly awaiting grandmas and grandpas. After a nap and diaper change, we realized we needed some supplies like baby shampoo, formula, wipes, and rash ointment. I made the trek over to Exito, which is like a Colombian equivalent of a Target or Wal-Mart. Luckily it is right behind the hotel we are staying at and is less than a 5 minute walk. Matthew has been great so far with only a short cry letting us know he had a busy day and had to take a short nap.
