Ready for takeoff

Today we finished packing last minute items and ate breakfast with family.  We headed to the airport around 12:30 pm. Security was not a problem but our nerves were kicked into high gear already from trying to make sure we’re not forgetting anything.  Speaking of forgetting anything, we were concerned that our bags were going to be over the weight limit but luck was on our side. Our two biggest bags were right at 50 pounds exactly.  I could tell Jim was starting to lose it when he addressed the woman behind the baggage counter as sir. The lady was pretty cool about it and we all got a good laugh.  We were also glad to have all those big bags out of our hands.  As we were sitting in the plane waiting to take off, I started getting emotional and I was thinking about our journey to start a family and how many obstacles we encountered along the way that got us up to this point.  We are overcome with emotions and feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to adopt.  We can’t wait to meet our son Matthew and hold him in our arms. - Monica
