Family Trip to Usaquen

Today is Labor Day in Colombia so the courts and many businesses were closed. Tomorrow, we are headed to the Notary to take care of some paperwork for the courts.  As it stands now, we are waiting to hear when our interview with Bienestar will be.  Hopefully we will know something by tomorrow afternoon.  We are kind of in a holding pattern right now waiting to hear from Maria Teresa to let us know what our next steps will be. We needed to get out for some fresh air and we heard that some of the streets were going to be closed to car traffic so we took a walk to Usaquen which is a small colonial district in Bogota.  It has a mall, many artisan street vendors and a nice little park which we decided to stop at for a rest and a bottle for Matthew.  He enjoyed looking at all the birds and dogs running around.  He even got to see a litter of puppies up close.  It was great watching him take it all in.  There was a wide variety of cafes, bistros and restaurants there to choose from.  We ate lunch, visited the shops and talked to a few of the locals.  After eating, Matthew was getting a bit tired so we headed back to our hotel so he could take a nap.
